Police: Facebook led to man accused of killing wife, toddler

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Authorities say police found a Raleigh man charged with killing his wife and their 2-year-old daughter after he posted on Facebook he was going to kill himself because they were dead.

Raleigh Police said in a news release that 53-year-old Elhadji Diop will be served with murder warrants after he leaves the hospital. Officers found him injured at his home Tuesday night, but haven’t said how he was hurt.

A 911 call released by police show officers came to the home after Diop’s niece in Senegal saw Facebook posts where Diop said his wife and child were dead and he didn’t want to live any more.

Authorities identified the victims as 40-year-old Aminada Drame and 2-year-old Fatim Diop. They did not say how the woman and girl were killed.
