Washington police arrest two suspects in Pennsylvania Ave. shooting

WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Washington police arrested two suspects Tuesday, in relation to a shooting at Pennsylvania Avenue on April 3.

William Lovell Harper, 16, was charged with accessory after the fact and placed in Beaufort County Detention.

The other suspect, who is a juvenile, was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.

The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are expected.

Two teens were shot Sunday afternoon.

Police in Washington responded to reports of shots fired in the Pennsylvania Avenue area. While in the area, Vidant Beaufort Hospital reported two teens, ages 16 and 13, had walked in seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. Injuries were non-life-threatening.

Witnesses were interviewed to determine what took place.
