Kinston police searching for third breaking and entering suspect

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Kinston Police need your help to find a suspect wanted in the breaking and entering of a pawn shop.

The Kinston Department of Public Safety said, on Thursday, March 31, 2016, just after 3 a.m., officers responded to an alarm at People’s Pawn located at 2502 North Queen Street.

When officers arrived, they noticed the electric meter at the location had been tampered with. That prompted them to search the area while other officers reviewed video from the store.

Officers found two people walking in the area and were able to determine from the video that they were involved with the attempted break-in at the shop.

The video showed three suspects.

Lewis, Marquez Jamal

Marquez Lewis, 18, was charged with attempted breaking and entering and was given an $8,000 secured bond and placed in the Lenoir County jail.

The second suspect is a 14-year old juvenile .

After further investigation, the third suspect was identified as Tevante Hatch, 18. A warrant for attempted breaking and entering has been issued for Hatch.
