Support of HB2 sessions planned tonight

(WNCT) – There will be a show of support for North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory and the members of the General Assembly who passed the HB2 law.

The #KeepNCSafe campaign is hosting prayer sessions in support of the leaders.

The law has drawn criticism for not including gender identity protections in the state’s nondiscrimination policy and for forcing transgender people to go to the bathroom listed on their birth certificate.

The campaign says the leaders are “standing up for the safety and protection for women, children and common sense.”

The gatherings in our area will be tonight from 7 PM to 8 PM at the following locations:

• Greenville at Peoples Baptist Church – City Contact: Pastor Tim Butler
1621 Greenville Blvd. SW, Greenville, NC

• New Bern at Union Point Park Gazebo – City Contact: Jerry Schill
Union Point Park Complex, New Bern or Alternate (weather) Foundation Life Fellowship at 2827 Ashland Ave, New Bern
