Greenville Police investigating armed robbery, may be linked to others

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Greenville Police are investigating an armed robbery.

Officers responded to the Speedway in the 500 block of Greenville Boulevard around 9:15 Monday night. Police said a black male suspect with dreadlocks, wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a bandana, entered the store and robbed the clerk at gunpoint. He then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The clerk was not injured, and no one else was in the store.

The case is still under investigation and detectives are looking into the possibility this armed robbery could be connected to other armed robberies in our area in recent days.
