Carolina braces for Notre Dame rematch, NCAA Regionals Update

PHILADELPHIA (WNCT) – Top seed North Carolina will meet ACC rival Notre Dame for a third time this season on Sunday in the NCAA East Regional finale at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Tar Heels and Irish last met in the ACC semifinals two weeks ago, when North Carolina buried Notre Dame, 78-47.  Earlier in the season Notre Dame defeated UNC 80-76.

North Carolina is a ten point favorite in the game.

In the other Sunday regional title game, two other ACC teams will tangle. Top seed Virginia takes on tenth seed Syracuse in Chicago.

On Saturday, (2) Oklahoma beat (1) Oregon 80-68 behind Buddy Hield’s 37 points in the West Regional finale in Anaheim.

(2) Villanova took out (1) Kansas, 64-59 in the South Regional championship game in Louisville.
