EDENTON, N.C. (WAVY) — A trash truck plowed into a house on Kimberly Drive in Edenton Wednesday morning.

Edenton Police Chief Jay Fortenbery says a town trash truck ran into the house while a woman was home. She was in a different area of the house and was not hurt.

A call about the crash was received by dispatchers shortly after 10 a.m.

10 On Your Side received photos of the crash, showing a truck in the side of the house.

Fortenbery says power was cut to the house, but he does not think it will be condemned.

The Edenton Fire Department as well as town building inspectors are on the scene evaluating the damage.

Fortenbery says no charges have been filed at this time, and the cause of the crash is being investigated.
