Salvation Army gives free prom dresses to girls in need

GREENVILLE, N.C (WNCT) – Prom is only a few months away and the Greenville Salvation Army is working to make sure all girls feel beautiful.

Dozens of free prom dresses, shoes, and accessories were on hand for anyone to try on.

Organizers said they do it because dances and proms keep getting more expensive and many parents can’t afford it. Girls said they’re thankful for people who donated the dresses.

“I don’t have to pay for anything,” said Taylor Mullins. “Like, I just get to pick a dress that I like and then I can leave.”

Organizers hope to have boys attire at the shop next year.
