March held in Kinston to stop violence

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Kinston community members are marching to end violence on the streets.

More than 40 people marched over three miles in downtown Kinston to show others that you can make a difference and change the community.

Marchers said people need to learn and understand that shooting people doesn’t end the problem. Community members said to talk your issues out and work together.

“There comes a time when you have to stop burying the young, so they can bury the old,” explained Joseph Cole.

Members said they are going to continue working together to try and make Kinston a better place.
