GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT)- Students, parents, children, and elected officials all attended the rally for Hillary Clinton.
People came from all over Eastern North Carolina. Some wanted to hear about Hillary Clinton’s policies, but most just wanted to be a part of the experience.
Some came to show their children the way.
“He won’t understand right now, but that’s okay,” Clinton supporter and parent, Andressa Williams said.
Williams brought her 6-year-old son to the rally.
Others were there just because they love the Clintons. Marti Buchanan is what you call a Clinton super fan. She came to Monday’s rally decked out in Clinton apparel. She had a Clinton t-shirt, pin, sticker, and her favorite accessory.
When Hillary Clinton visited Greenville in 2008 Buchanan took a bunch of pictures. On Monday, she brought a framed collage of those photos to the rally. Thanks to President Bill Clinton, she has something to add to her framed collection. Buchanan says President Clinton handed her the pin off his lapel when she met him after the rally.
“He took it off, one-handed, put the pin back, and he gave it to me,” Clinton supporter Marti Buchanan said.
It’s safe to say Buchanan and the rest of the crowd were happy to see part of the Clinton campaign in Greenville.
The GOP released the following statement about Bill Clinton’s visit: “No matter how many times Hillary and Bill Clinton visit the state, it won’t change the fact that North Carolina voters have already rejected the Clinton machine three times before. What’s worse for Clinton’s campaign is that she is failing to rally North Carolina Democrats as turnout remains down from her last run in 2008. Republican enthusiasm only continues to skyrocket with turnout up 255% among North Carolina Republicans.” – Kara Carter, RNC Spokeswoman
