ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (AP) — The U.S., Coast Guard says crewmembers have helped a fishing boat taking on water east of Oregon Inlet.
Local media outlets report the 43-foot commercial boat had three people aboard when they notified the Coast Guard shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday that the boat was in distress.
A Coast Guard spokesman said a 47-foot lifeboat was sent to the scene and arrived shortly after 11:30 p.m. Two Coast Guard crew members took a pump to get the water off the fishing boat. The lifeboat escorted the fishing boat to Wanchese.
No injuries were reported.
