Cove City man charged after wrecking stolen vehicle in New Bern

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – Craven County deputies arrested a Cove City man after he wrecked a stolen vehicle.

34-year-old Nathaniel Oneal Hargett was charged with felony larceny of a motor vehicle. He was placed under a $10,000 bond.

Hargett’s arrest stems from an incident Monday, when a 2006 Lincoln Truck was reported stolen from Murphy Drive in Cove City. The truck was later located by the New Bern Police Department after it was involved in a single vehicle accident on South Glenburnie Road.

Hargett was found in the driver’s seat and taken into custody without incident.
