Swansboro fire chief resigns weeks before end of probationary period

SWANSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – The Town of Swansboro lost its fire chief Friday, that’s because he has officially resigned.

WNCT spoke with the Town Manager of Swansboro, Scott Chase.

He says Fire Chief Harold Henrich’s resignation was nothing controversial and that he just wanted to move on.

Henrich started as the chief a year ago.

He was placed under a one year probationary period set to expire March 30th.

The probationary period is typical for town department heads in Swansboro, according to Chase.

Chase also says the town is looking to fill the fire chief position immediately and only minimal costs will be inferred for advertisement purposes.
