New STEM lab in Wilson County

WILSON, NC (WNCT)- Students in Wilson County are taking learning to the next level.

Forest Hills Middle School is the first school in Wilson County to have a STEM lab. Duke energy donated money to fund materials for the new classroom. The equipment gives students the opportunity to learn new skills. Each day they use the classroom they rotate stations and put their new skills to the test. Students say it now has them excited about learning.

Areli Garcia said, “I think it’s really fun, I think the opportunity that’s given to us, and it’s an extremely good opportunity.”

The stem lab officially opened in January. Right now a group of 8th graders use the classroom.
