People enjoy the sunny Sunday weather in Greenville

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The sunshine and warm temperatures are back in town for the next few days and many people are taking full advantage of it.

“I love it, I wish it would stick around,” Sarah Escott said.

The warmer weather is fooling a lot of people in Greenville. Kelly Phillips said, “Its nice weather and I can finally be outside.”

Many said they’re not getting their hopes up that the warmer temperatures will last for long.

People are taking full advantage of the sunny weather like seven-year-old Madison Emery. “I’m going to take my dog to the park and take her for a walk,” said Madison Emery.

Humans aren’t the only ones enjoying their sunny Sunday. People said they’re letting their furry friends spend a little extra time this morning running laps at the dog park. Others are running the greenway and teaching their children how to ride a bike.

“I love just being in the sun and relaxing so I want to get the dog tired so I can go home and relax,” said Escott. She said she’s heading home to cook on the grille and read a book in her hammock. “I’m going to stay out today and enjoy it.”

“It’s awesome to be able to be outside, it’s so nice and not having to be locked up when it’s windy,” said Phillips.

Little Madison hopes Punxsutawney Phil is right and summer comes sooner than later.

“My pool is opening in a couple days and we get to go play,” said Emery. She added that her dog Austin feels the same way too. “She hasn’t able to go outside for a long time and because it’s been bad weather.”
