Cherry Branch Ferries back in service

HAVELOCK, N.C. (WNCT) – The NCDOT Ferry Division reports Cherry Branch Ferries are back in service Thursday.

According to Sue Kinner, who is the Operations Manager with the Cherry Branch Minnesott Beach Ferry, the water in the river dropped out around 5 a.m., prompting the closure.

This incident caused the ramp angle to be too steep for workers to safely get vehicles down on to the boat decks.
