Voter registration drives held in the East

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – With just weeks until the primary election, now is the time to get registered to vote if you haven’t already.

The African American Caucus held a voter registration drive in Greenville Wednesday, geared at getting minorities ready to vote. Organizers were on hand to answer people’s questions.

Keith Cooper said this election is critical in determining the future of the state and country. He said every vote counts.

“Once we register and actually vote, then that particular vote carries just as much power as a vote from a cooperate CEO or a billionaire,” he said.

Cooper said they were also educating people about changes in the voting process, like the required ID law.

You must be registered to vote by Friday February 19.
