KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Lenoir Community College is the only school in the state that is nationally accredited online. Students from other states like Pennsylvania, California and Georgia come to the school and earn their certifications. The reading and tests are done online then students travel to LCC for hands-on training.
“I’m an EMT now, and I really wanted to advance my level and paying the $15,000 dollars was just way too much and $1,400 dollars is amazing,” Jonathan Williams said.
Justin Tilghman said, “I think it’s great for North Carolina to have the ability to train people from across the country and it’s great for us because we get to meet people from all over the country and see how things are done differently in other places.”
LCC says 200 to 300 students use the program yearly.
