Greenville Police find woman with gunshot wound after car crash

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Greenville Police detectives are conducting two investigations after a woman involved in a car crash was found with a gunshot wound.

Police spokeswoman Kristen Hunter said around 3:10 p.m., a gold minivan traveling west on Airport Road ran a red light and hit the front of a propane truck traveling south on North Greene Street.

When officers arrived, they found a woman passenger in the minivan with a gunshot wound to the arm.

She and the driver were transported to Vidant Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Hunter said the department will conduct both a crash and crime investigations.

She said detectives are still investigating where the shooting occurred, and if it’s outside city limits, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office would take over the investigation.
