Pitt Co. commissioners vote on changes to personal leave policy

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Pitt County commissioners voted on personal leave policy changes for county employees.

Commissioners unanimously voted to changes on how employees share these days.

Now, an employee can use another employee’s personal leave day if they’re spending it while taking care of an immediate family member.

“Got that policy changed so that people, when they need to take care of their immediate family, when they run out of sick time, the other employees can share it with them if they choose to,” said Glen Webb, Pitt County commissioner.

The policy change doesn’t cost taxpayers.

The plan goes into effect immediately for any employee who fits the criteria.
