Multiple crews respond to Wednesday night house fire in Lenoir Co.

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Two firefighters are ok after falling through a floor while putting out a house fire in Lenoir County

It happened Wednesday night around 11:40 at home on Highway 258 in Lenoir County.

Firefighters from Southwood, Sandy Bottom, and Wyse Fork fire departments all responded to the call.

When firefighters arrived they noticed smoke coming from the roof of the home. Fire crews say it appears the fire was coming from the attic.

Firefighters say while they working to put out the fire two first responders did fall through a burned floor. They were pulled out without sustaining any injuries.

Responding departments say the fire caused damage an apartment attached to the home. The original home was not damaged.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation
