Two men wanted in connection to fatal shooting in Scotland Neck

SCOTLAND NECK, N.C. (WNCT) – The Scotland Neck Police Department is looking for two suspects in a Tuesday night fatal shooting.

The Police Departments says officers were called to the intersection of Grace and 11th Street in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived they discovered the victims had left and were being treated by EMS near Our Community Hospital.

Police say two of the victims were airlifted to Vidant Medical Center while the other victim was treated and released.

Investigators say one of the victims airlifted, Jimmy Daniels, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Vidant. Daniels was 24 years old.

Investigators say Daniels and the other two victims were shot while sitting inside a car.

Police have identified 20-year-old Tyquan Powell and 22-year-old Lamonte Lloyd as two suspects wanted in connection to the shooting.

The shooting is still under investigation.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations and The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
