Super Bowl Champion Anthony Wright honored in Vanceboro

VANCEBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – It was a golden night in Vanceboro Thursday evening.

Former West Craven star, Anthony Wright was honored with a golden football to commemorate Super Bowl 50.

Wright earned a championship ring with the 2007 New York Giants, who won Super Bowl XLII.

The 39-year-old starred at the University of South Carolina before playing in the NFL from 1999-2007. He retired in 2008.

In honor of Super Bowl 50, across the country, past champions are presenting these golden footballs to their high schools.
