ONLY ON 9: Woman facing multiple charges after alleged hit and run

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A woman faces multiple criminal charges after Greenville Police said she ran over a median and hit a stopped car before taking off with police in pursuit.

9 On Your Side’s Brandon Goldner was filming with the traffic safety unit earlier this morning.

Officers were conducting red light enforcement along Memorial Drive when they said Carin Jackson ran over a median and hit a stopped car.

She then took off with police right behind her car.

Officers finally stopped her down the road at Memorial and Greenville Boulevard.

They arrested both her and passenger Kyrie Stokes.

Minnie Anderson witnessed the incident and praised how the officers conducted themselves.

“I’m so proud of these Greenville policemen and the way that they have given respect to this young lady and this young man,” Anderson said.

Jackson faces multiple charges including DWI, hit and run, failure to heed lights & siren, driving left of center and exceeding safe speed.

Stokes had warrants for failure to appear on simple possession and DWI charges.
