Marine returns home from deployment and surprises son at Swansboro Middle School

SWANSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – One Marine with the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines returned home Wednesday morning and surprised his son at Swansboro Middle School.

To help surprise him, WNCT had to convince the son Andrew Navarro to talk on camera about healthy eating and working out.

We asked Andrew Jr. what his favorite exercise was and he said pushups, which his dad taught him how to do.

Gunnery Sergeant Navarro returned home from his seventh deployment while serving in Eastern Europe.

After several deployments, he and his wife wanted to surprise their kids this homecoming.

“I’m really surprised because I’ve missed him this entire time,” said Andrew Navarro Junior.

“They’re my world, I try to do everything for them, all the stuff, all the deployments, sacrifices we make it’s all for them,” said Gunnery Sergeant Navarro.

The Navarro’s say they plan on spending quality time together and working on Andrew’s pushups to prepare for the upcoming sports season.
