GPD: Man with a gun attempts to rob Greenville gas station

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Greenville Police Department is investigating a late night attempted armed robbery at a Kangaroo gas station.

Police tell 9 On Your Side it happened just after 11:30 Tuesday night at the Kangaroo on the 2600 block of Charles Boulevard.

Investigators say a man, armed with gun, approached the gas station and banged on the door.

Police say a store clerk heard the noise and looked up to a see a man with a gun. The man has his faced covered and was dressed in dark clothing.

Investigators say the suspect wasn’t able to enter the store since the doors were locked. Police say the suspect ran off after the failed attempt.

This is the same gas station where a clerk was shot during an attempted armed robbery back in October 2015.
