New Year’s Resolutions going strong as one gym continues to see influx of members

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Whether it’s getting in shape, losing weight or learning a new skill, a New Year often has many folks heading to the gym in hopes of a New Year’s resolution.

With a month into the New Year, we checked in to one local gym to see how they’re clients are staying on track.
At Planet Fitness in Jacksonville, the general manager says many folks are sticking to their New Year’s resolution.

He says while members that were there before the New Year are still getting used to the crowd, overall their gym remains busy throughout the day.

“More people being here, a little more crowded, not that they’re unhappy about it just a little different than what they were used to over the holidays when it wasn’t as crowded, from the new people, they’re just excited to get the year off to a great start and hopefully accomplish their goals,” said General Manager Cameron Bohannon.

Bohannon says their busiest time is right after work and if you’re looking to meet friends while keeping your resolution, that’s the perfect time to come.

If you’re looking for a bit less of a crowd he says to come in the early morning or after lunch.
