JPD investigating Wednesday morning shooting

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Police are investigating a Wednesday morning shooting.

The Jacksonville Police Department said it happened just after 1 a.m. on the 1300 block of Decatur.

Officers responding to the scene found one person injured with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Onslow Memorial Hospital for treatment and has since been released.

The incident remains under investigation.  Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact JPD Detective Kourtney Martin at 910-938-6407 or or Crime Stoppers at 910-938-3273.
