Winter weather, when it’s the right kind, can be a beauty, but that’s not the kind of precipitation eastern North Carolina saw Friday. Friday’s ice event left wet roads, cold temperatures, and just an overall gloomy day, which is not what the Carters were hoping for.

“When you get ice instead of the snow it is definitely a let down,” Carter said.

Angela and her two toddlers were hoping for some flurries would make their way to Pitt County.

Carter said, “My son has seen it but he hasn’t been out in it. She was just a baby last year so it would be awesome to get them dressed up like little snow bunnies and go outside and play.”

Instead they’ll enjoy each other’s company.

“We’re going to watch our favorite TV shows, we’re going to snack, we’re going to play, we’re going to do the whole nine,” Carter said.

They hope the next storm brings what they’re looking for.
