Travel agent offers advice for traveling during potential storms

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT)- Traveling during winter weather can be frustrating.

9 On Your Side asked a travel agent for some tips to help people using airplanes as their mode of transportation this weekend.

Brenda Cummings at AAA advises everyone to call their airline before they leave their house to check the status of the flights. She says you will only get a refund if your flight is canceled. If the flight is delayed and you miss it, or can’t make it to the airport you will not get your money back.

Brenda Cummings said, “If the flight still departs and they are not at the airport the airlines will not refund their money, but if the flight is canceled they will.”Cummings says if airports as a whole close, most people should get their money back.
