Greenville Fire and Rescue increasing staff due to potential storm

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT)- Here in the east emergency crews are also gearing up for potential winter weather

Greenville Fire and Rescue will have more staff working this weekend. Fire and Rescue Chief Eric Griffin says the extra workers will handle the high volume of calls the department gets when a storm hits. He says more staff also keeps everyone safe.

Chief Eric Griffin said, “We have two to three people on an ambulance, but if you’re working in a hazardous environment we put more people on the scene to help transport patients to and from the ambulance safely.”

Chief Griffin says all the city’s departments will be working together this weekend to make sure every emergency is handled properly.
