Food trucks operating despite the cold

WINTERVILLE, NC (WNCT)- Food trucks in our area are still operating despite the cold weather.

One truck even decided to launch their new business during the winter months. The Sizzle Shack is now open off Firetower Road in Winterville every Tuesday and Thursday. The truck sells local seafood, burgers, sides, and even hummus. Carly Hobbs operates the truck and says having local options is very important.

“We’re passionate and committed and it’s keeping us going through the winter months, and we love what we do,” Hobbs said.

9 On Your Side also reached out to other food trucks in the area. Kona Ice in Greenville says they use this time of year to prepare for spring and summer, but they still do school and community events. Villa Verde says the cold isn’t going to stop them, and their truck will remain open.
