Carteret County offering energy assistance applications

BEAUFORT, N.C. (WNCT)- The Carteret County Deparment of Social Services is offering energy assistance applications to help assist those who need help paying their electric bills.

Applications will be taken until March 31, 2016 or until the money is gone.

People interested can go to the Carteret County Health Department Wednesday from 8:30- noon or visit DSS from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Several area churches are also helping.

They are the following:

Merrimon United Methodist Church – Jan 21st 9 a.m. – Noon

Newport St. James United Methodist Church- Jan 25th 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

North River Mt Tabor Missionary Baptist Church- Jan 26th 10 a.m.- Noon

Atlantic United Methodist Church- Jan 28th 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Bettie Woodville Baptist Church- Feb 4th 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
