GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Martinsborough road resurfacing project is nearing completion.
Crews need to fill minor patches and put the final asphalt surface on the road, which will be done next week. Public Works originally expected to finish the 2-million-dollar project by Thanksgiving but was delayed due to months of heavy rain. Director Kevin Mulligan says it was a difficult project and he hopes the rain stays away next week.
“If we get the appropriate weather conditions we will put the final resurfacing after we patch a few areas then we should be done with the road,” Mulligan said.
Mulligan says the temperature has to be in the 50’s to put the final coat on the road. He hopes the resurfacing lasts over 20 years.
