Man found with over 70 bags of drugs in vehicle

KENANSVILLE, NC (WNCT)- The Duplin County Sheriff’s Office have charged a man after finding over 70 bags of drugs in his vehicle.

On December 31, 2015, the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office DICE team conducted a vehicle stop on I-40. The vehicle, driven by Eric Montgomery, was searched by K9 Mindy.

K9 Mindy then alerted on the vehicle and a search of the vehicle revealed 28 bags of Crack Cocaine weighing approximately 9.6 grams, 19 bags of powder Cocaine weighing approximately 4.7 grams, and 26 bags of Marijuana weighing approximately 68 grams.

Eric Montgomery also had outstanding warrant for child support.

Eric Montgomery was charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Felony Possession of Cocaine, Felony Possession of Marijuana, Manufacture Cocaine, Manufacture Marijuana, Maintain a Vehicle/Dwelling Place to Keep Controlled Substances, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia.

Eric Montgomery was placed in the Duplin County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond. Eric Montgomery was placed under an additional $360 cash bond for the outstanding child support warrant.
