Sticking to your New Year’s resolution

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – New Year’s resolutions are something we all make, and many will decide to start 2016 off with fitness on their mind.

Often times, people set an unrealistic goal, and after a few weeks it’s forgotten.
But fitness professionals say it is possible to lose that extra weight, or get in better shape, as long as you make a realistic goal.

“When you set a goal, make it realistic,” said Michael Vann, owner, InTone Fitness. “Make it where you can obtain it. Don’t set a goal where you can’t obtain it – then you’re not gonna be successful, and you’re not gonna stick with it for the long term.”

Try going to the gym two times a week, then gradually go more often. If you have a hard time motivating yourself to get to the gym, bring a buddy and make it a social event.

The combination of cardio, weights, and eating healthy will keep you on track, and most importantly — help you make it a lifestyle change.
