Kinston Teens now a federally recognized non-profit

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – People making end-of-the-year donations can now give a tax deductible gift to Kinston Teens.

The youth service non-profit received a 501(C)(3) designation from the federal government so people can write off a donation on their taxes.

“We’re able to apply for grants, funding from the government. We are recognized as kind of like a really legitimate non-profit now so it gives us some legitimacy,” Kinston Teens founder Chris Suggs said. “Just shows that we’re a group of kids doing some big things.”
