Conley, Rose open Parker’s Holiday Tournament with wins

FARMVILLE (WNCT) – DH Conley and JH Rose opened the 2015 Parker’s Holiday Tournament with victories on Saturday night at Farmville Central High School.

The Vikings won their first game of the season in controversial fashion. Shykeef Daniels followed his own miss with the game winning basket to give Conley a 66-64 win over Ayden-Grifton.

Video replays showed that the clock didn’t start for a couple of seconds. Officials met with both coaches, after awarding the basket and putting one second back on the clock. The Chargers got a good look at the buzzer,  but the shot to tie rolled off the rim.

In the nightcap, JH Rose raced past Currituck 81-41. Cornell Powell scored 18 points for the Rampants.

Monday’s schedule looks like this:

Ayden-Grifton vs Currituck   5:30

South Central vs JH Rose  7:00  First Semifinal

Farmville Central vs DH Conley 8:30  Second Semifinal
