Pink Hill man charged with manufacturing meth

KENANSVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A Pink Hill man is behind bars, accused of manufacturing methamphetamine.

Deputies with the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office say they got a tip on Monday about a suspicious man in the area of Blizzard Town Road and Miller Road. They say Jay Allen Houston tossed a suspicious item in the wood line. It appeared to be a plastic bottle with a suspicious liquid inside.

Narcotics agents who responded to the scene confirmed that the item thrown in the wood line was a bottle, which was being used to manufacture methamphetamine. They subsequently secured the scene and evidence.

Houston was charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Pre-cursor Chemicals for Production of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was placed in the Duplin County Jail under a $120,000 secured bond.
