Onslow Co registered sex offender pleads guilty to new sex offenses

JACKSONVILE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office announced a man pleaded guilty to sexually molesting a minor over the course of several months.

Deputies say John Franklin Hudson, 55, pleaded guilty on Tuesday and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge J. Hooks to serve up to 93 months in prison.

Deputies say Hudson molested a minor between September 2013 and April 2014. They arrested him on May 7, 2015 and charged him with 6 Counts of Statutory Sexual Offense; 6 Counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child; 6 Counts of Child Abuse Sexual Act.

Hudson is a registered sex offender and was previously convicted of 2nd Degree Rape on 8/14/2006. Deputies say the conviction involved a different victim. He was released from prison in June 2011.
