Greenville shelter asking for donations as winter arrives

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Greenville’s homeless shelter is experiencing a drop in donations as it prepares to serve more people in the winter.

Community Crossroads Center executive director Bob Williams said his new facility gives a misconception that the shelter has a lot of money.

In reality, he said the shelter is in need of donations.

“I think especially at this time of year, we’re trying to make ends meet by paying the insurance and all the other stuff that goes along with maintaining this size facility,” Williams said.

He said people can also donate supplies like paper plates, towels and toilet paper.
