Kinston Police investigating individual shot multiple times

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – The Kinston Department of Public Safety is investigating a Monday night shooting in which an individual was shot multiple times.

Kinston Police say officers responded to a call of shots fired at 1303 N. Heritage Street at approximately 5:32 p.m. Monday, and were advised that someone had been shot.

Police say the victim, 38-year-old Hal Edward Tyler Jr., was shot while he was in the back yard of the residence. He was transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville to be treated for his injuries.
