Deputies: Prescription pain medicine dealer arrested

WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Deputies in Beaufort County say they’ve arrested a prescription pain medicine dealer.

64-year-old Vergia Jones of Chocowinity is charged five counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance.

Her arrest stems from complaints that she was involved in the distribution of prescription pain medication. Investigators say they purchased Oxycodone pills and Fentanyl patches from Jones.

She was placed in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond.
