Dec. 14 named one of the busiest days for U.S. Postal Service

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Postal workers stayed busy Monday on what was likely one of the busiest days of the year for the U.S. Postal Service.

People packed the Greenville Postal Service Monday afternoon. Officials recommend sending letters and packages by Monday, December 21st via priority mail or Wednesday, December 23rd for express shipping in order to get it by Christmas.

Ray Bunting says he stays connected with his loved ones through sending Christmas cards.

“People are so mobile now, they don’t say around home much anymore. I just like to personally contact them, even though I can’t be around them. It’s a personal communication,” says Ray Bunting.

The Postal Service expects to deliver a total of approximately 15.5 billion cards, letters and packages during the 2015 holiday season.
