GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – As millions wait for the new Star Wars movie to be released, some children in the East had a day out of this world.
“We’re coming around and just playing with the kids, and give them some light sabers, spend some time with them, and just enjoy their company.”
Tony Morace, Outreach Director at Ignite Church, joined forced with ECU’s School of Theater and Dance, to bring children a Christmas they will never forget.
“What did they give you?” “Um.. a light saber!” “And what else did they do?” “Um.. we trained.”
Seven year old Chris Allen, among others, accepted his very own light saber, given to him by one of three Jedis.
A Star Wars reenactment by students at ECU, led the children on an adventure they won’t soon forget.
“We’re here to invite you to the Jedi Academy. From this moment on, every single one of you are padawans.”
“We came here to do a star wars show for the children,” said Dylan Ritch, who played Master Kyotai. “And this year was very special because we got to create a Star Wars themed show to show for the kids and then let them meet the characters.”
Characters — right out of the movie, teaching the kids that good prevails evil.
“The dark side has made you weak. This ends.. today.”
And giving them words to live by: “May the force be with you.”
