GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – If you win, you punch your ticket to the state title game. It’s as simple as that for a handful of high schools across the east.
While the stakes are the same for every team, the circumstances vary.
For J.H. Rose, a win over New Hanover, would mark the first state title game appearance since 2006.
Meanwhile, with a win, Wallace-Rose Hill would be making back-to-back trips to the 1AA championship.
And Plymouth has played in the 1A state championship the last three seasons.
And then there’s Kinston. The Vikings have advanced to just one state championship game (2011), and have yet to capture a state title in school history.
4A: J.H. Rose (11-2) @ New Hanover (12-2)
3A: Rocky Mount (12-2) @ Eastern Alamance (14-0)

1AA: James Kenan (12-1) @ Wallace-Rose Hill (13-1)
