Greenville woman killed in overnight wreck

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Police say they’re investigating a fatal overnight wreck.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of Forest Hills Drive.

Officers say a driver passing by the scene spotted a single vehicle that had crashed into a tree in front of a house. It appeared the car had been traveling toward Elm Street when it crossed the center line, ran off the road, and struck the tree.

EMS transported 22-year-old Gabriella Pleasant of Greenville to Vidant Medical Center with serious injuries. She died a short time later.

The Greenville Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit will be conducting a further examination of the vehicle and crash scene in an effort to determine the cause of the crash.
