New Info: Camp Lejeune Marine arrested after report he exposed himself to children in Onslow Co.

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of an Camp Lejeune Marine saying he was exposing himself to children who were riding on an Onslow County school bus.

Deputies say they arrested SSGT. Justin Michael Abbott, 28 of Holly Ridge, around 1 p.m. on Friday. He’s charged with three counts of Felony Indecent Exposure and four counts of Misdemeanor Indecent Exposure.

Abbott appeared in front of a magistrate late Friday afternoon.

The mother of a child on that bus reached out to Channel 9 before his arrest.

She says her 15-year-old daughter told school officials it happened on the way to school.

She said Dixon High School made her daughter provide a statement, but Porsha Muszny, her mother, did not hear about the incident until her daughter got home from school.

Muzny says her daughter will never forget what she saw. When she got home she told her mom, ” I can’t unsee what I saw. You know, and it’s something you can’t take back and she’ll have to live with that forever and he should have to pay for that.”

Her daughter said the man started following the bus in the Neighborhoods of Holly Ridge subdivision on Highway 50.

Then he followed the bus up Highway 17 and pulled off at Dixon Estates, only feet away from the high school.

Suzie Ulbrich with Onslow County Schools told WNCT on Wednesday that student reported the man exposing himself to the them while riding alongside the school bus. Ulbrich says the man never entered the school bus.

Ulbrich contacted the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office to help with the investigation.

Deputies say it is still an open investigation.
