2 injured in crash near Pitt Community College

WINTERVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Two people were injured in an accident near Pitt Community College on Wednesday.

It happened around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Whitley Drive. That’s in front of the college and Sheetz.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident; a Ford truck and a Ford Mustang. Both drivers were injured in the crash. The driver of the truck was transported to Vidant Medical Center with minor injuries.


There’s no word from authorities yet on what caused the crash.

Traffic was backed up on Memorial Drive for about an hour and northbound traffic on Memorial Drive was diverted down Tice Road around the scene to Reedy Branch.

The scene was cleared by noon.

Winterville Police, PCC Police, and Winterville Fire and Rescue all responded to the scene.
