Construction projects on hold due to rain

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT)- With the recent rain some construction projects are on hold. Housing developers say rain can cause a delay of three to four weeks. Pouring concrete, landscaping, and anything that involves the outdoors stops when it rains. Developer Brent Roberson says builders plan for the winter months.

Roberson said, “This time of year with the rain and being cooler taking longer to dry up, if it was in the summer, rain would dry up in a day or so. In the winter when it rains it’ll last a week from drying up.”

Roberson says the holidays also slow down progress. He says it’s hard for realtors to show housing during this time of year, because so much of the landscaping is incomplete.
